The Austrian police have been looking for a group of thieves who, according to them, are responsible for the theft of motorcycles and bicycles for a long time, and that is why they were lying in wait in the border area on Tuesday night. The car she was looking for crossed the border from the Czech Republic to Austria around 2:00 a.m. and was returning at around 6:45 a.m. when another car stopped nearby. The two drivers spoke briefly and then headed towards the border.

The driver (38 years old) was convinced that drugs and driving are seriously not a good combination in the forests of Dačick.

An obstacle set up by the police a few minutes later in the village of Rainbach near the Czech border stopped one of the drivers, who was a 35-year-old Czech. But the second man – a 31-year-old Czech – broke through the barrier and tried to drive away, speeding up to 190 kilometers per hour despite the morning traffic and children going to school. Shortly after 7 a.m., he ran through another police roadblock during his run, but eventually turned onto a road that ended in the woods, where he was caught by the police not long after.

The law enforcement officers discovered that the man had consumed drugs before driving, and they also found stolen items of high value in both cars of the Czech drivers. The couple was therefore taken to the remand prison in Linz.
