The National Police has arrested a man for rob a supermarket and a taxi in Palm just a few hours apart. The man used a broken bottle to threaten and even attack at least one person.
In a press release, the Higher Headquarters explained that the events occurred this Wednesday. At 11:00 a.m., in the Can Pastilla neighborhood of Palma, the man in question went to a supermarket with a broken bottle and threatened an employee to give him cash box money.
Once with the money in his possession, he fled the scene and several Citizen Security patrols and agents from the Robbery Group went there to gather information. Two hours later, the agents learned of another robbery with violence and intimidationthis time in a taxi in the same neighborhood.
Once the victim was located, he explained that a man had gotten into the taxi asking him to take him to an area of ​​Playa de Palma. Upon arriving at his destination, following the agents’ story, the man grabbed the driver’s arm and in a threatening tone told him “give me the money I have.” I need it or I’ll puncture you“, brandishing the neck of a broken glass bottle and causing an injury in an armpit.
The victim was able to escape by going out the door and throwing himself to the ground to ask for help from pedestrians and another taxi driver. At this point, the aggressor tried to hide by running away from the scene. The police verified that it was the same person, so they carried out several raids until they found him in Playa de Palma, where he was arrested accused of two crimes of robbery with violence and intimidation.
In addition to these two events, the agents also verified that hours before the man had already tried to rob a leisure establishment. On that occasion an employee locked the box and walked away telling him that she was going to call the office. Policeso the now detained man fled without being able to steal anything.
