It measures 430 meters in length and is located 300 meters above the ground. Since its opening in 2016, the Zhangjiajie Bridge held the title of the longest and tallest glass pedestrian bridge in the world until recently, and although it has lost both titles, it is undoubtedly China’s most famous glass bridge. It is located in the national park of the same name in Hunan province and connects two mountains.

The bridge is several meters wide, and you can walk not only directly on the glass parts of the floor, but also on opaque ones. Nevertheless, many videos have gone viral showing terrified people having a panic attack when looking through the glass floor and literally having to be dragged off the bridge.

The World’s Most Dangerous Bridges: They look like they’re holding on by force of will, yet they’re an attraction

Entrance to the bridge costs around 580 crowns, tickets should be bought in advance. Review of the sheet Business Insider but does not recommend the visit very much. For example, due to the fact that people have to expect lengthy security measures (like metal detectors) upon arrival, and foreign tourists also have to show their passports. But the main problem is the overcrowding of the bridge, which is caused precisely by the worldwide fame supported by viral videos. “Even though there can only be 800 people on the bridge at one time, it feels crowded. Few people simply walk along it or enjoy the views,” reads the review.

Everyone else is trying to get the perfect selfie or photo on the glass floor, so a visit to the bridge is more like scrolling through a long line than a walk.
