This is the municipality of Llocnou de la Coronaa small town of 124 inhabitants located at eight kilometers from Valencia and which can boast of being the smallest town in all of Spain. With barely 12,000 square kilometers long (little more than a football field, it has just six streets, although in them you can see some architectural wonders.

Until November 2022, the title of ‘smallest town in Spain’ was held by another Valencian municipality, Emperor, but after a cartographic review, that ‘honor’ became Llocnou de la Corona’s, which has 130 meters wide and 250 meters long. Located in the L’Horta Sud region, it has only six flat streets where you can breathe the most absolute tranquility. As explained on the community’s tourism website, its origin dates back to a convent that was in the area in the 17th century.

In addition to its houses with traditional facades, the town’s greatest attraction is the beautiful Church of the Virgin of the Rosary, a neo-Gothic temple that opened its doors at the beginning of the 20th century in the place where there was previously a small hermitage. Despite being very short distance from Valencia, In Llocnou de la Corona you can enjoy a few hours of peace, away from the constant hustle and bustle of the city and a curious excursion.

In addition, near this small town there are others that are perfect for making a getaway from Valencia. On the official tourism page of the Valencia Community it is recommended to go to other towns such as Alcàsser, Torrent or Catarroja, as well as the Albufera Natural Park. If you are in the city and want to boast of having been to the smallest municipality in all of Spain, you just have to take the highway V-31 to get there.
