Hours after the PP declared negotiations broken with the Government to deal with the migration crisis in the Canary Islands, the Executive has responded by describing it as “implausible” the excuses of the popular ones.
Sources from the Ministry of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory explained to 20 minutes who regret “a new obstacle that the PP puts in the negotiations. When progress is made they always put more conditions in order to torpedo the agreement.”

“The regulations of the Migration and Asylum Pact come into force in 2026. Until then referral options at 27 are voluntary. If there was a willingness to seek agreements, the PP would raise its conditions at the negotiating table. Not this way. It is irresponsible,” say Ministry sources.
The socialists say that in Genoa “They have been making excuses for days to unilaterally break off the negotiations.
“A few days ago they ‘reported’ that leaks of the proposals presented in the negotiation were occurring. Another falsehood that is easily verified asking the media that have echoed this information,” say Territorial Policy sources.
These sources believe that “the PP uses this humanitarian emergency for its political strategy to wear down the Government, but they are doing terrible harm to those children and adolescents. The PP demands help and refuses to help,” they conclude.
