CINEMA – What if Athos, Porthos and Aramis had been women? This is what imagine All for one, new feature film from the director Houda Benyamina, in theaters January 22. The trailer for the film with Oulaya Amamra and Sabrina Ouazani was unveiled on November 22, and it announces an adventure just as muscular as that of Three Musketeersbut with significantly less testosterone.
Alexandre Dumas has definitely been on the rise in recent years. Less than a year after the theatrical release of the adaptation of Count of Monte Cristo with Pierre Nineyand the second part of that of Three Musketeers with François Civil, the writer will once again be adapted for the big screen. And it is again the adventures of D’Artagnan and company which will be entitled to it.
Well almost. Because in All for oneHer Majesty’s musketeers who protect the Queen of France are in reality disguised women. With bandaged chests and false beards stuck to their chins, they travel the paths to reestablish justice. One day they come across Sara, a young girl on the run who decides to join them, admiring their code of honor and their audacity.
All for one is the second feature film by Houda Benyamina, after Divine released in 2016, which received three Césars (César for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for Déborah Lukumuena, César for Best Young Actress for Oulaya Amamra and César for Best Debut Work for the director). In the cast of the feature film, spectators will find Oulaya Amamra, Sabrina Ouazani, Déborah Lukumuena and Daphné Patakia in the costumes of the musketeers, as well as Georgina Amorós in that of the queen. Fans of the novel will not be completely out of phase since according to the trailer, they should find certain constituent elements of the Three Musketeers and in particular the figure of Cardinal Richelieu.
