Woman Breaks Seriously Big News to Her In-Laws—Their Response Is Everything

Two parents-in-law have gone viral after realizing they’re about to become grandparents to not just one, but three babies.

Stephanie Woodward and her husband Ryan Chalmers were out for dinner when they broke the news they were expecting triplets to Chalmers’ parents.

In the viral video, Woodward hands her mother-in-law a card containing ultrasound pictures labeled baby A, baby B and baby C. The card read “Time to party!” and the expectant parents wrote, “It’s going to be a big party” on the inside.

While her mother-in-law gasps in joy, Woodward’s father-in-law takes a little longer to catch on. “What is that, are those inside of you?” he asks. While flipping through the images, the penny finally drops.

Woodward was also shocked when the couple found out they were having triplets. “I immediately asked the ultrasound technician to double-check and even requested a second opinion because I just couldn’t believe it,” she told Newsweek.

After struggling with fertility for over two years, including a stillbirth and multiple miscarriages, the couple from Rochester, New York, nearly lost hope.

“Seeing three little babies on that ultrasound was beyond anything we could have imagined,” she said.

Her video, originally intended for family and friends to follow along on their pregnancy journey, has since garnered a massive response, clocking up over 14 million views and over 12,000 comments.

“He looks like he’ll be such an iconic grandpa,” one user said. “Mom’s excited for babies, but dad seems concerned for you,” another joked. Many users also commented how her father-in-law resembles Canadian-American actor Martin Short.

“We never imagined so many other people would be so invested in our story,” Woodward told Newsweek.

She understood that it took her in-laws a while to click, and told Newsweek that she and Chalmers found it so amusing to watch them work out what they were telling them.

“We knew they’d figure it out eventually, but no one really expects to hear the news of triplets, so we understood why it took a moment for it to sink in. We were just overjoyed to share the surprise and celebrate with them,” she said.

After the joyful dinner, Woodward had to make a visit to the bathroom as the triplets made her feel nauseous. A few months later, Woodward and Chalmers welcomed their three babies.
