There is no doubt that it is the most media case in recent months. It is the one of Daniel Sanchosentenced to life sentence for the murder of Edwing Arrieta produced just over a year before, and which has gone around the world.
In addition to serving a sentence, the cook must pay a compensation of 105 thousand euros to the family of the Colombian surgeon. Sancho will have to serve his sentence in Surat Thani, one of the harshest prisons in Thailand.
While the chef’s life sentence sentence remains within the deadline to be appealed, other extrajudicial matters continue to be talked about, such as the alleged transfers that Rodolfo Sancho would have made to Nilson DomÃnguez with the intention of having him testify against Edwin Arrieta. And, although this information is not confirmed, the author of a book related to the case assures that this money was sent and was destined for investments in Venezuela.

Just as he said in Code 10 Milenyi González, the witness’s lawyer, her client received 10,000 euros in various payments during the months prior to the trial. And now, the author of the book, in exclusive statements to Readingsmaintains that a “credible” source has revealed to him that Nilson DomÃnguez would have used this money to invest. “They are in the same Venezuelan town where he continues to live, in Lagunillas,” he revealed.
Furthermore, the lawyer and writer also left up in the air if it was true that the witness had a relationship with the deceased surgeonbecause although Nilson DomÃnguez maintains that they had a relationship and sued him, he has not provided any evidence that they knew each other and Laura RodrÃguez assures that this complaint does not appear in the official records.
In any case, Daniel Sancho wanted to clarify certain points. He has done so through the chef’s lawyer, Carmen Balfagón, who has addressed the issue in statements to Readings. ”How are we going to look for a witness in Venezuela? They were the ones who looked for us”, he maintains about who contacted whom.
Regarding the ‘trap’ in which Rodolfo Sancho would have fallen in his desperation, the lawyer intones the mea culpa: ”We don’t mind asking for forgiveness. We were wrong in believing the testimony and we did not know how to differentiate the truth from the lie.”, he declares.
Furthermore, the lawyer has assured that they were scammed and that they were even offered another alleged complaint from a minor as evidence. ”The money was provided to him so that he could verify the complaint through legal means, since he claimed that it existed,” he explained.
