• Repair Café Woodstock will return on Saturday, Nov. 2, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Woodstock Community Center, 56 Rock City Road, Woodstock. While your item is being repaired, you stay to watch, sometimes assist, and ideally to learn. Work is done on jewelry, lamps, small appliances, electronics, wood items, furniture, clothing, knits, knife and tool sharpening, The Listening Corner, and more. • The Reformed Church of the Comforter, 26 Wynkoop Place, Kingston, will have a meat lover’s dinner on Saturday, Nov. 2, from 5 to 7 p.m. The format will be a continuous buffet service. Meals can be eaten on the premises or taken out. The cost is $25 per person, $20 for seniors ages 65 and older, and $10 for children ages 9 and under. Admission is free for children 5 and under. • The Kingston Interfaith Council will host a “Before our National Election” candlelight prayer vigil on Monday, Nov. 4, at 7 p.m. at the St. James United Methodist Church at 35 Pearl St. Kingston. The Interfaith Council said the event will be “for our community, houses of worship, nation and world.”

• A shoe drive fundraiser, supporting the Kingston High School class of 2027, is being held through Wednesday, Dec. 11. Collected shoes also will help support micro-enterprises in developing nations.
