Ariadne and Aida artiles, the best ambassadors of Canarian fashion at La Palma Fashion Week

“I hope they can get to know La Palma internationally for its fashion.” Ariadne Artiles I made this wish after seeing the parades of La Palma Fashion Weeka catwalk that seeks to put local designers on the scene, at least in Spain. The model born in Gran Canaria is one of the tops most recognized Spanish companies around the world, so nothing better than their presence and that of his sister, Aida, in front row to give visibility to creators clappers, as the natives of this island are known. Ariadne and Aida were two of the VIP guests at a fashion conference held this week in Santa Cruz de La Palma as a result of the alliance between Isla Bonita Moda -by designer Andrés Acosta- and the Cabildo of La Palma. Ariadne posed so beautiful in the photocall with a beautiful dress olive green mermaid silhouettewith fitted body and mesh peplum. It is a design by Claro Couture that was accompanied with a nod to the creators of the Canary Island: jewelry by Sara Luis, a designer from Palma. “Is the first time I am in La Palma and I am excited in every way,” Ariadne confessed on her date with La Palma fashion.

What have you enjoyed most about this event in your homeland? “Seeing how La Palma has brought fashion to this island that we, the Canaries, call Isla Bonita, but it is true that it is an island that was a little out of fashion. And I have been very amazed by the designs,” explained the model, which has also highlighted the inclusive casting of La Palma Fashion Week: “It seemed to me that they are very pioneers in the sense that they have brought in many models of various ages, which is a very important thing to support.”

For her part, her sister Aida, who chose a white dress in linen blend with black air trim bohoemphasized how admirable it is that the models blend in with every look they wear. “I am impressed by how they can defend each garment, from each designer; represent a character,” he told Lidia Torrent, who served as the show’s presenter. Furthermore, Aida stated that “being an islander and from here, it is always an honor to give voice to projects as beautiful as this one.”

An exceptional presenter

The presenter and influencer Lidia Torrent was in charge of opening the two afternoons of parades that took place at the Insular Museum of La Palma. She did it with a sand-colored set of fluid fabric consisting of a wrap top and a floor-length skirt. It was the case of Hiba Abouk, who traveled from the Huelva Film Festival and she posed very sophisticated with a top outfit nude and skirt with an off-white slit. We also saw the interpreter of Intervías Nona Sobo (with a blue minidress in the photo above) already the star of the last season of Elite, Anne Rotwho was photographed with Acosta and wearing a dress by Pedro Juan, one of the participating designers.

The trends highlighted at La Palma Fashion Week

During the two afternoons of Friday 15 and Friday 16 November, the Insular Museum of La Palma, in Santa Cruzhosted the presentations of 9 firms with roots in Isla Bonita, in addition to the parade of the students of the Manolo Blahnik Art School. In most of them, fluid fabrics and details with character such as openings stood out. cut out or applications glitter. The jewelry proposals and, of course, the bathroom ones also attracted attention. In fact, the joint Bonita by Isla Bonita Moda show consisted of bikinis and swimsuits from different designers from Palma. All the models wore looks created by the brand MAC Cosmetics.

As a culmination, La Palma Fashion Week had three great guests: the designer Pedro Palmas, from Gran Canaria Moda Cálida, Amarca Atelier, from Tenerife Moda, and the show from Adlib Ibiza; three collaborations that demonstrated the new brotherhood that exists between islands in terms of fashion.
