“It is time to rebuild a winning strategy to achieve freedom”

Junts made public this Tuesday, on the occasion of the seventh anniversary of the referendum illegal independence of October 2017 (1-O), a manifesto in which he calls for “rebuild trust with people” and “rebuild a winning strategy to achieve freedom” for Catalonia.

“It is time to redraw horizons of collective hope that allow mobilization, essential to win, and it is time to articulate an alternative to frustrating political moment that the country is experiencing to once again create a wave of hope,” the text continues.

“It is time to rebuild a winning strategy to achieve freedom”

The post-convergents point out that it is seven years since “the great collective victory that the self-determination referendum of October 1, 2017 represented” and celebrate: “Against all odds and against all political, judicial and police persecution, The ballot boxes and ballots were there because the people were there, united to fight for freedom.

They affirm, however, that “in these seven years that have passed since then” the “lack of unity” of the independence movement and the “brutal repression of the Spanish State” have not allowed “that victory in the independence of Catalonia to materialize.” In this sense, they say that “this time has meant very important learnings for not repeating past mistakes”, as well as “a wear and tear and demobilization of the independence movement that deserves attention and reflection.

The manifesto also points out that “what has not changed” is the immovable will to achieve the political objective of independence “in a peaceful and democratic way.” “At Junts we engage in self-criticism and integrate the learning gained, but at the same time we reaffirm ourselves and conspire to move towards independence,” continues the text, which ends with: “Long live free Catalonia!”
