Since we spoke with Ana Guerra and Víctor Elías about the preparations for your big dayyou could already see the excitement they had because Their wedding was a reflection of who they are.. They told us that they wanted to be surrounded by all the people who had marked their lives in their different stages, that his family and great friends were therethat his two dogs, Dumbo and Jack, were not missing, and that it was something very much his.
After months of preparations, in which there has been a move in between, for the launch of Ana’s new album, no end; and Victor’s new book, I held: Story of an almost broken toy -which will be released on November 27-; have had their expectations exceeded and have lived not just one wedding, but twoand now they have something they have never had before: a family book.
Still in a cloud after two days of emotions, of smiles and tears, reunions and hugs that touch the heart, we spoke with the newlyweds about how they lived their two ‘I do’s, what were the moments they enjoyed the most, what memories and anecdotes that they will keep forever and who they missed. These were Ana and Víctor’s first words after becoming husband and wife.
—The date you had been waiting for has arrived. How have you lived the previous days? And the preparations?
Victor. —I think very good. Because with everything we’ve had at work, with Ana’s album, the performances, the move, my book and my album… Everything has come together! But it has turned out well.
Ann. —People told us: ‘If you get out of this, you can do everything.’
—You haven’t missed a detail: wedding, album, book, house… Everything concentrated in weeks.
v. —And the most beautiful thing is that we have seen that we are still the same. It has not cost us any work to make any decision. Everything has gone smoothly.
TO. —Víctor decorates and I execute. We have everything very clear (laughs).
—A day later, you said ‘yes, I want’ again, and not only uniting two families, but uniting two worlds, two lives.
v. —I was much calmer, wanting to enjoy myself, to see people, to see Ana again… I say ‘I was calmer’, but in the end I cried again, I fell exhausted again. But I was able to experience it from another side. The ‘official’ ‘yes, I want’, so to speak, we had experienced it the day before and that commitment that you sign, that this is for life and that we are really going to respect and love each other for life, we had signed on the 30th.
TO. —Yes, on this day there were more things to manage, but once we sat under the wedding arch, we were mere spectators and the only thing left to do was enjoy. This is what we told you months ago, that we wanted to turn around and see our lives become people. They came from teachers I had at school, to colleagues from when I worked at El Corte Inglés.
—It was a very, very special ceremony. What did you think of what Fran Perea prepared for you, accompanied by Javier Márquez?
v. -Brutal. Everyone told us and we had the same feeling. It was lucky that Fran didn’t want to tell us anything. It was all surprise. I trusted him and the band one hundred percent, and I was very clear that what they were going to do was going to be spectacular.
TO. —I, who am very controlling, was having a terrible time. The days before, I was trying to get the information out of him somehow, but I couldn’t (laughs).
—The people who mean a lot to you spoke. First, Natalia Sánchez. What did you think of his speech?
v. —We cried, we laughed… I think she gave a nice chronological review of what she and I have experienced together, and how it has come to have so much relevance in my life so that, on a day like my wedding, she is the one who speaks. . That was the beautiful thing. She was also there the day before, because she is family, and having her there is something very special.
TO. —I couldn’t stop crying. Not only because of the words he said, but because of how he was saying them, with the love that I know he has for Víctor and me, because he also loves me very much. I was sobbing. I thought I wouldn’t be able to sing later.
—And then, Sandro Nonna spoke, which is very important to you, Ana.
v. —I didn’t expect it. I think he described Ana perfectly and from a very beautiful point of view.
TO. —I was surprised. When the wedding was over and I met Sandro, I said to him: “Do you really think that about me?” opportunity to know what you thought of me.’
—After so many emotions, Ana, you dared to sing your vows to Victor…
TO. —I have to say one thing: I composed the song a couple of days before. Nothing else. And it was very difficult for me because of two things: one is that whenever I compose something, the first one I show it to is Víctor and, of course, this time I couldn’t. And two, the other thing that happened to me is that I started singing the song at home, without realizing it, in front of him… But he didn’t realize it, thank goodness.
v. —I was stunned! Plus, I wasn’t expecting anything at all. I was clear that I wanted to write them that morning, because we had already experienced the wedding the day before and I knew it would help me express other things. And she, all the time, told me: ‘Yes, yes, I wrote them in the morning too’… And she played it with me. The day before he told me that he had met someone and… what he was doing was rehearsing with the pianist!
—Was it the ceremony you dreamed of, or has it exceeded expectations?
TO. -A lot! It has greatly exceeded expectations! When I thought something better couldn’t happen, it happened. Just when I thought it couldn’t sound any better, it did. Just when I thought they couldn’t make us laugh anymore, everyone was laughing. And when I thought they couldn’t make us cry anymore, everyone was there with the tissues. We cry and laugh in equal measure. I thought: ‘I’m living a movie and we’re the protagonists right now.’ The beautiful thing about this is that that energy stayed throughout the wedding. It was a constant outpouring of love.
—What are your alliances like?
TO. —You’re going to laugh… When we went to the wedding rings, suddenly, Victor, who has more taste than me, said that the wedding rings would be good in rose gold, and my eyes widened like saucers, like ‘suck it to me.’ land’. He just said ‘rose gold’ and he was right, they turned out wonderful. Mine is also made to go with the engagement ring. So that it fits like Victor and I fit.
—This question is difficult, after two such incredible days: what was the most emotional and the memories that you will never forget?
v. —When we saw each other…
TO. —When we open the dancewith the bolero With you I learnedsung with the music and voice of Víctor’s father, Liberto Villagrasa. For me, I loved that.
v. —I stay with everyone who was there. Which was true. Because I wanted… We feel very loved. And also with how well behaved our dogs were! (laughs).
—Have you missed anyone?
v. —To my parents. Lot. But we remembered them and put a small altar, right behind our table: some trees with Ana’s missing family, and also with mine.
TO. —Natalia already said it in her speech, that Amelia would have been holding the microphone several times, and Liberto with the musicians, playing the harp, and he would surely have been the one who would have helped me with my vows. On the other hand, there are also many people who, due to work reasons, could not attend the wedding… That’s life. Sometimes not everyone can be there at all the important moments.
—Who was going to tell you that, in the end, the song Complicity Vanesa Martín was going to give you two weddings, she was going to unite two families and two worlds! Your complicity was very real…
v. -Yeah. Furthermore, it has led us to this. For us, getting married is very important. It is a reliable step of our love, but it does not mark a before and after. Our relationship was and continues to be just as beautiful.
TO. —Suddenly, we have a family book. That for us is super shocking. We have never had that before. We may have experienced other similar things.
