It has been six years since the Smiles without Cancer Foundation was born with a clear objective: to finance and promote research around the childhood cancer. Since then, one of his most recognized projects is the Solidarity Calendar that they publish every year to raise funds.
For next year 2025, they have prepared a very special calendar starring children and cancer patients: Javier, Hugo, Alejandro, Miguel Ángel, Lucas, Aitor, Manu, Álvaro, Vanesa, Mario, Javi and Claudia… They are accompanied by some of the best-known faces in our country, such as Vicente del Bosque, Jose Mota and Pepe Rodriguez -all three, patrons of the Smiles without Cancer Foundation-; presenters like Eva Pedraza either Matias Pratsinfluencers María García de Jaime and Tomás Páramoor the former Real Madrid midfielder Ruben de la Red are some of the participants.
Every year, this calendar, beyond support research and help make cancer visibleis a great illusion for the participating girls and boys, who enjoy becoming models alongside some of the best-known faces in our country, leaving aside the treatments and bad experiences that childhood cancer causes them every day.
The collection obtained thanks to the Solidarity Calendar 2025 will be used to acquire and implement new equipment for the area of Advanced Therapies at the Peace Hospital in Madrid. After achieving the goal in 2023 of donating and implementing a CliniMACS Prodigy device in the Advanced Therapies area of the La Paz University Hospital in Madrid for the manufacture of cellular therapies, this year the challenge is to raise funds for the solidarity calendar and the activities that carried out serve to provide an Electroporator and/or a CM Prodigy with Electroporator that complements the existing CliniMACS equipment. These techniques are revolutionizing current medicinebut they require additional resources.
Smiles Without Cancer promotes research to reduce the impact of childhood cancer. It is estimated that 1,400 children are diagnosed with cancer within a yearof which 299 do not pass it. These figures have been stagnant for many years, as have many of the treatments employees. Our researchers and doctors need funding and better means to achieve new treatments and improvements in existing ones, with the aim of saving more lives and alleviating the serious consequences and side effects suffered by those who survive.
This fight, which hardly has any state aid, is mostly fueled by private financing from the affected families, from private people with a big heart and companies that collaborate because they have detected the great importance of this ailment, according to Smiles without Cancer. .
