Raphaël Quenard, here in August 2024, will sing Johnny Hallyday in the biopic on the rocker, promised director Hugo Sélignac.
MOVIE THEATER – Raphaël Quenard will it merge with Johnny Hallyday ? In any case, this is the challenge thrown at him this Wednesday, November 13 in C to you director Hugo Sélignac, at the helm of a biopic on the rocker which will be played by the 33-year-old actor.
Hugo Sélignac was the guest of the France 5 talk show as co-producer of the film Love phew which has just exceeded 3 million cinema admissions. But he was asked questions about his next project, a biopic on Johnny Hallyday which is due out in 2027.
Last June, Laeticia Hallyday revealed that she herself had chosen Raphaël Quenard to play her husband who died in 2017. Quite a challenge for the Grenoblois, but the question of his vocal performance had not yet been really addressed.
“He’s going to sing”
In C to you, journalist Émilie Tran Nguyen therefore asked Hugo Sélignac the question: will Raphaël Quenard himself sing the hits of the French star, like Tahar Rahim does it brilliantly in the biopic on Charles Aznavour ? “He’s going to sing. I hope he will have the same demands as Tahar Rahim for Charles Aznavour, but he will sing”replied Hugo Sélignac.
A speech that has changed since June 25, when he declared in The Parisian after the same question was asked: “Perhaps we will mix, thanks to artificial intelligence, the voices of Raphaël and Johnny… We don’t know yet, but in any case, we will hear Johnny Hallyday. »
The film does not have a name but already has a release date: December 8, 2027. Before that, another biopic on Johnny Hallyday must be released in theaters, That I love you by Jalil Lespert, which will be set in the 1990s. Johnny will be played by Belgian actor Matthias Schoenaerts.
