Maisie Williams and George RR Martin met to discuss a mysterious project…
ENTERTAINMENT – Shall we take the same ones and start again? After a decade of collaboration on the multi-award winning series Game of ThronesMaisie Williams and George RR Martin would be willing to do that again. The American writer and the British actress met to talk about a possible new collaboration.
He is the author of the saga who made this confidence on his website. On his blog page titled “ Not A Blog », on which he regularly publishes information concerning his next books and other projects in development, George RR Martin evokes this meeting. In a post posted on November 10, the writer recounts his recent stay in London during which he met Maisie Williams.
“ I also spent some time with Maisie Williams. We ate pizza, pasta and talked about… Well no, it’s better not to talk about that right now, at the risk of bringing bad luck. But it could be really fun », he writes.
The universe of Game of Thrones continues to expand
George RR Martin says no more about this meeting with the 27-year-old actress. We therefore do not know if this is a project linked to the universe of Game of Thrones. Or something completely different.
Since the end of Game of Thrones in 2019, Maisie Williams played in the playoffs Two Weeks to Live, Pistol And The New Look, but also in films The New Mutants And The Owners. The universe of Game of Thrones continues to expand with other books, games, plays and series: House of the Dragonseason 2 of which was broadcast a few months ago on HBO, and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, which will be released in 2025.
During his stay in London, George RR Martin also took the time to have lunch with Duncan Macmillan, director in charge of adapting “The Harrenhal Tournament” into a play, one of the events that readers of the saga already know , present in particular in the book Game of Thrones: The origins of the saga. During this knightly combat tournament, characters that fans of the original series know well face each other, including Ned Stark, Jaime Lannister, Oberyn Martell and Robert Baratheon. Performances of this play initially scheduled for 2023 should take place in 2025, according to George RR Martin.
