The opposition tests for the Civil Guard this Sunday were suspended due to an error in the boxes that contained the exams

The Civil Guard has reported the suspension of opposition tests admission to the Armed Institute that were going to be held this Sunday, September 29, given that an error has been found in the labeling of one of the boxes that contained the exams. The tests were held between this Saturday and this Sunday, and more than 26,000 applicants to fill 2,700 positions.

“Having detected an error in the labeling of one of the boxes received and sealed with the knowledge exams of the access tests for entry into the Scale of Corporals and Guards of the Civil Guard, it is necessary to suspend the tests called for tomorrow, September 29,” the police force reported in a statement.

The Armed Institute will give more details to the affected applicants “as soon as possible“, notifying the new date for carrying out the tests. In any case, the exam carried out this Saturday is valid, and the suspension affects only the candidates who were examined this Sunday. More than 26,332 people were summoned throughout Spain this Saturday and Sunday to fill one of the 2,721 places that are offered this year to join as corporals and guards of the Civil Guard.

The opposition phase It is divided into four testsincluding a knowledge test, a physical check, as well as a personal interview and a medical examination. For the knowledge test, the Civil Guard had established 19 locationslocated in 12 autonomous communities: Alicante, Ávila, Baeza, Balearic Islands, Cádiz, Gijón, Granada, Las Palmas, León, Logroño, Madrid, Málaga, Mérida, Murcia, Seville, Tenerife, Valencia, Vigo and Zaragoza.

Prior to the tests, the first phase, the competition, was carried out, in which the the merits that each opponent adds to the requirements minimum requirements to be able to participate in the competitions. Specifically, they had to be between 18 and 40 years old, have Spanish nationality, have no criminal record or have at least a secondary education diploma.

The four tests to be a Civil Guard

This weekend’s test consisted of carrying out a series of tests on general theoretical knowledge, languages, spelling, psychotechnical and grammar.

Opponents who obtained sufficient scores would be summoned for the physical tests: a coordination and agility circuit, an endurance test – a two-kilometer distance run -, a strength test consisting of performing a certain number of push-ups depending on sex, and a 50-meter swimming test.

Those who pass these last tests will be subjected to a personal interview to evaluate their psychological suitability for the job they are applying for and finally a medical examination to assess your state of health and physical fitness. Applicants who complete the competition will join the Academy of Guards in Baeza (Jaén) and the College of Young Guards ‘Duque de Ahumada’ in Valdemoro (Madrid), where they will receive their professional training during an academic year.
