This old Disney video game for children went viral because of its terrifying atmosphere

VIDEO GAME – « First Silent Hill for baby “. Since the beginning of November, a video game based on the universe of Winnie the Pooh has gone viral on the internet because of some of its absolutely terrifying passages. Released in 2003 on PlayStation 2 and GameCube, “ Piglet’s Adventures » is an action-adventure game adapted from the eponymous film, certain parts of the gameplay of which are often closer to a horror game for adults than to Disney for children. Excerpts from the game recently broadcast on the networks have fascinated many Internet users.

As you can see in our video at the top of the articlethe French development studio Doki Denki Studio was undoubtedly inspired by the most famous horror video games when designing the game. The player plays Piglet who must enter the different dreams of his friends to help them solve their problems.

A game close to resident Evil And Silent Hill 2

Very quickly, the atmosphere of the game tends towards the horrific. For good reason, the camera angles used give the impression that Piglet is constantly being observed, reminiscent of the cult survival horror resident Evila remake of which was released a year exactly before “ Piglet’s Adventures » on GameCube as well. The level of Eeyore’s dream, seeming to take place in an abandoned mansion, is particularly reminiscent of this flagship horror game license.

Internet users have highlighted another element that makes the game terrifying: its music. Indeed, certain tracks from the original soundtrack are so disconcerting that we wonder if we haven’t played the wrong game. The latter seem strongly inspired by the music of another very well-known horror game: Silent Hill 2released in 2001.

Some Internet users have even theorized that the remake of the latter, released in October 2024, would have completely sampled the track “ Foreboding 1 » from the game Winnie the Pooh for one of the music from its soundtrack. Questioned by Internet users, the artistic director of the remake of Silent Hill 2 has not yet answered the question, but users have pointed out that the two songs could have used the same sound bank.

On “ Having played Piglet’s Adventures, the best way to describe it is like the first Resident Evil or Silent Hill for babies », Comments a user of the social network. Others wonder what could happen to Piglet in this game, imagining the worst for the fearful little pink pig.
