He PAN senator, Ricardo Anaya Cortésexpressed his rejection of the so-called bill constitutional “supremacy” recently approved in the Senate, which seeks to prevent the Judiciary have the power to challenge the constitutional reforms.
Through his Twitter account, the former presidential candidate shared a video of his intervention during the discussion in the Upper House, where He described the debate as “schizophrenic” and pointed out that the initiative seeks to disable the Supreme Court review legislative decisions promoted by the ruling party.
“They wanted to silence me, but someone has to say it: The plan is clear, they want to prevent the Court from reviewing their decisions. We cannot allow them to destroy our justice. “They want power without limits,” Anaya accused in his message.
The legislator criticized Brunette considering that he has committed contempt of a court order, when referring to the appeal of Judge Nancy Juárez Salaswho ordered the President Claudia Sheinbaum eliminate the judicial reform of the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF).
“What they have not understood is that in a democracy when you do not agree with a sentence what you do is appeal the resolution (…) if they do not like the meaning of the resolution what they have to do is appeal that resolution, do not disrespect That is the underlying problem,” said the PAN member when questioned by the Morenoist senator Andrea Chávez.
“The problem is that you want to solve the lawsuit with a judge from Coatzacoalcos reforming the Constitution. Don’t do it, appeal that sentence if you don’t agree, but don’t take the entire Mexican legal system under your belt,” he added.

In this sense, Anaya maintained that what the legislators from the PT, Green Party and Morena is wanting to resolve the conflict with the Judiciary reforming the Constitution.
Likewise, he questioned Morena’s argument that its legislative decisions are supported by the people of Mexico, as he recalled that a large percentage of the population did not vote for them.
“By now it should be obvious. 54% of the population voted for you, but 46% of the people did not vote. and that 46% are also people. That is why it is an absolute excess for you to repeat over and over again that you have a mandate from the people. Which town? the 46% that did not vote for you,” he asserted.
What is the constitutional ‘supremacy’ reform about?
These are the modifications to the articles 105 and 107 of the Constitution with the intention of establishing the inadmissibility of protections and controversies against the constitutional reforms.
