For proper functioning in their facilities, they have established a maximum amount of money to exchange, in addition to introduce systems that change coins and bills automatically in machineswhich are already available in different cities in Spain, such as Zaragoza, Barcelona, Madrid and Seville.

Limit to exchange money

Although the exchange service is completely free, the person must know the requirements in advance. If a citizen needs to receive coins, the Bank of Spain stipulates that as Maximum 1,000 units may be given packaged or 200 loose. If, on the other hand, the service is used to deliver them, they are accepted up to 2,000 per person and day. These 2,000 coins must be separated by value, and if they are not, only 200 can be delivered.

If the objective is to obtain bills instead of coins due to their high value, they can be delivered at least 100 bills of different values, despite the fact that the real problem would exist in the number of operations to extract them. In this case, if more than 1,000 euros are exchanged, users, by obligation, must deliver their IDpassport or residence card to identify yourself to workers.

Furthermore, the Bank of Spain explains and warns its users that when exchanging money, they should keep in mind that It will not be allowed to exchange coins or bills from other countries and carry out currency exchanges, but simply operations, in this case, with euros.
