José Luis Jiménez Enríquez, Global Business student, was sworn in as president of the University Chapter of the Employers’ Confederation of the Mexican Republic (Coparmex) in the Iberoamerican University.

During his first speech as president this Wednesday, October 23, Jiménez Enríquez highlighted the importance of promoting a socioeconomic change in Mexico and your goals as a leader Coparmex-Ibero.
“I want to promote leadership, because I think it is something that is missing in this generation (…) I don’t just want to see our own good, I want to see the common good, that what we do helps society,” he stated, before the president of Coparmex CDMXAdal Ortiz Ávalos, who was in charge of making the appointment official.
In addition to President José Luis Jiménez Enriquez, the Board of Directors of the Coparmex-Ibero University Chapter will be made up of Bernardo Olmedo García as Vice President of Operations; Lorena Alférez, as vice president of Public Relations; and Daniela Gracida Valdepeña, as vice president of Social Networks.
Olmedo García, student majoring in Accounting Business, explained that he will seek to encourage young people to achieve alliances with established businessmen to obtain greater opportunities.
Meanwhile, Lorena Alférez, also from Business Accounting, spoke out for creating mentoring programs and facilitating the transition of students to the world of work.
Gracida Valdepeña, student of Fashion Design and Sustainable Textiles, highlighted the importance of taking the initiative and being willing to learn from the business world.
In turn, Adal Ortiz Ávalos, president of Coparmex CDMX, highlighted the challenge faced by 20-year-old Jiménez Enriquez. “He has a great challenge which is to become a leader at the service of his community, his family and his country,” commented Ortiz.
The event was attended by key figures from the Universidad Iberoamericana, such as Óscar Flores Choperena, coordinator of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Business Acceleration; Lucía Romo Alanís, director of Entrepreneurship, Talent and Business Development; and Arias Ramírez, professor at Ibero; in addition to Carlos Chávez de Icaza, vice president of Business Development and Competitiveness, who expressed their support for the new board of directors.
At the closing of the commitment, José Luis Jiménez Barrera, vice president of Government Liaison of Coparmex Mexico City and father of the new president at Ibero, advised the young entrepreneurs: “Ask everything and make mistakes. If they make a mistake, nothing happens, all that translates into experience.”
