​Ministry of Culture launches notice “Batuku, Txabeta di Mundu”

The Ministry of Culture and Creative Industries (MCIC) launched this Thursday, 24th, the “Batuku, Txabeta di Mundu” Notice, to support national artists, groups and creatives residing in Cape Verde, in purchasing clothing (uniform) , working materials for this cultural expression and/or recording of singles and music videos.

According to the regulation, the objective of the notice is to select projects linked to the Batuku cultural expression, to receive financial and/or institutional support from the Ministry of Culture and Creative Industries, for the acquisition of clothing (uniform), work materials (txabeta ) and/or recording singles and music videos.

Applications must be submitted by November 9th. Only applications submitted through the link available on the Ministry of Culture and Creative Industries’ social networks will be accepted.

According to the regulations, each application may submit a maximum of one project for this notice.

“Applications must be accompanied by the following elements: Duly completed project form click here; Registration documents (commercial registration) of the group; Declaration of the group’s NIF; Group bank statement (only after selecting the respective application); Presentation letter and identification document of the proponent; Pro forma invoice for the recording of the music video and/or single, issued by the Studio/Producer”, indicates.

Copies of the Bank Statements and NIF of the Studio/Producer and/or the sewing and carpentry company (to be presented only if the project is selected); proof of no debt to the Tax Administration; These are other documents required at the time of application.

For evaluation and selection of projects, the following criteria will be considered: Being legally regularized (commercial registration); Artistic quality and authenticity of the project; Be framed within the traditional genre of Batuku; Feasibility of the artistic project to be implemented by 2025; Economic impact of the project on the local economy; Quality of organization.

The maximum amount to be financed by each project through this notice is 100 thousand escudos, and will be transferred to the bank account of the editor/producer of the selected project; If it is for the purchase of clothing (uniform) and work materials (txabeta), the amount will be transferred to the group itself.

The list of selected and non-selected projects will be communicated to the proponent via the email provided at the time of application and published on the Facebook page of the Ministry of Culture and Creative Industries.
