The President Claudia Sheinbaum has as one of its objectives increase school enrollment public, including National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).
During the ‘morning’ conference this Wednesday, October 23, Sheinbaum announced that it will begin a dialogue with UNAM to find out what capacity it has to increase the number of places for students, as well as the need for resources for education.
“You are going to come into contact with the autonomous universities of the statesthe UNAM, to see what capacity they have to grow. Of course, putting the resources dedicated to teaching and research, not to bureaucracy, but rather the vast majority of the resources, 99 percent, go to the development of new spaces, new enrollments,” added the president.
In the case of National Polytechnic Institute (IPN) The Secretary of Public Education, Mario Delgado, reported that 30 thousand new places will be opened.
The decision is part of the program to increase enrollment at public universities and offer young people options to study a professional career.
Which public universities will have places available for students?
In addition to the educational offering offered by the IPN and the UNAMit was announced that the Rosario Castellanos University will expand to other states after it was created in Mexico City during Sheinbaum’s term as head of Government.
The Rosario Castellanos University will have two new headquarters, the first of them in Comitan, Chiapas; and the second, in Tijuana, Baja California.
It is planned that during the six-year term, more universities of this type will be built in the Wellbeing Poles that will coincide with strategic sites for investment in Mexico. In total there will be 30 new headquarters with 150 thousand available spaces.
The racing that will be offered will be in accordance with the needs of young people and also with the growth opportunities in each of the areas.
In November, the Rosario Castellanos University will open calls for both students and teachers, in order to begin the registration process in December and January to begin classes in March 2025.
