Queen Mary of Denmark delights fans in power outfit on the second day of royal visit to Germany

Queen Mary of Denmark delighted royal fans this afternoon in Germany as she greeted them in a power outfit.

The royal, 52, wore a striking pair of burnt orange tailored trousers and a burgundy blazer in a clashing ensemble to visit the Schleswig-Holstein state government building today in Kiel.

With her brown tresses down in a wavy blow-dry, the Queen greeted an overjoyed crowd of royal fans waving Danish flags.

The mother-of-four accepted a bouquet of German chamomile, thistles, rose hip and red berries that perfectly complimented her £175 floral blouse from luxury British clothing brand ME+EM.

To accessorise her sophisticated look, she carried a tan handbag and wore matching strappy heels from Malone Souliers that cost £625.

Today Queen Mary and her husband King Frederik, 56, are due to visit the Danish minority in Germany and ride a ferry to an energy conference.

To mark the end of their two-day visit to Germany, the couple are expected to drop by Flensborghus, the centre for Danish association activities in South Schleswig and take part in community singing led by the choir of Jaruplund Danske Skole.

Queen Mary decided to keep her makeup to a minimum ahead of her various appearances today with a subtle smokey eye, glossy pink lips and a hint of blush.

King Frederik looked dapper by her side in a pin-stiped navy suit complete with a crisp light blue shirt, black polished shoes and an amber coloured patterned tie.

The royal couple pulled up to the state government building this morning in a blacked out Audi adorned with Danish flags as a marching band dressed in red, white and blue played to welcome them.

The Danish King and Queen are on a short two-day trip to Germany – their first official visit to the country since their accession in January this year.

Queen Margarethe II announced her abdication on New Year’s Eve and gracefully stepped aside to allow her eldest son Frederick to take the throne alongside his Australian-born wife Mary.

Yesterday the two landed at Schloss Bellevue and were welcomed to Germany by President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and First Lady Elke Büdenbender.

King Frederick and Queen Mary signed the guest book and took part in a private meeting with the presidential couple before meeting the President of the Bundestag Bärbel Bas and taking part in a tour of the Reichstag.

The Danish Queen looked elegant in a powder blue outfit, which consisted of a soft, longline coat and matching blouse by Jesper Hovring.

With it she paired the chequered Emilia Wickstead Ariceli Skirt, which retails for £970.

There, Queen Mary looked red-carpet ready in a scarlet gown that featured a demure slit and a bow detail on the waist.

She paired the striking ensemble with a pair of diamond drop earrings and matching bracelet, along with her wedding ring and a pearl-studded evening bag.
