There is a harsh, unruly and furious censorship that does not want us to see the documentary in which Pedro Sánchez shows us how normal and nice he is behind closed doors in his beloved Moncloa. However, I feel relieved because I just received an email in my mailbox informing me that this evil censorship has been defeated and that a media friend of the president, with a lot of effort and struggle, is going to offer us, upon subscription, the document.
The subject of the message says: “The silenced documentary that no one wanted you to see.” In the body of the message – this expression with the name of a minister always catches my attention – the idea of the evil censorship. No platform, he says, has wanted to broadcast it. The message reminds me a little of when I set up with my partners that infamous geek DIY store called Brico-Jones.
At Brico-Jones you could buy a can to survive the zombie apocalypse, some anti-moon glasses for werewolves, mirrors with drawn fangs for vampires, a stick to talk about web design with architects and a few other things. Sales were zero. The market laughed, but did not buy. The geeky DIY store that no one wanted you to know about. The deaf censorship of creative entrepreneurship. We didn’t have a newspaper to save us from that and Brico-Jones closed without pain or glory.
It is the friendly market -without a coma- that is going to save it because they know a lot about saving and being saved.
But the documentary of Pedro Sánchez walking the dog is not Brico-Jones. It is another matter that someone did with the idea of making a profit and in which someone collaborated to make a profit. It will be commented on, but it will not reach the general public. If anything, the most important fragments will reach us through that digital vertical video cutting room called Tik Tok. It’s the market, friend. It’s not censorship. It is the friendly market -without a coma- that is going to save it because they know a lot about saving and being saved.
Playing the victim always works. Governing as if you were the opposition is also a very old trick. Dedicating your citizen service time to making a documentary so that the masses can see you running around your domain is a misconception. Politicians are not our bosses. They are our servers. We pay them their salary. I know it sounds strange, but we have to make the effort to believe it and integrate it into our lives. We must all do it: ordinary citizens, business groups and journalists. Otherwise, we will be giving away our freedom to people who do not deserve it.
