The General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) is continually implementing improvements to improve the Road Safety on the Spanish road network. Recently, the organization has updated its signs catalog so that the indications on highways, highways and other types of roads are better, and among them there is one that has stood out: This is the P-1e, one very similar to some that drivers have already encountered.
Although there are other signs that have also been updated, such as the one for crossing pedestrians and cyclists, the one for braiding or the one for prohibiting entry to vehicles depending on their environmental badge, P-1e tells drivers the proximity of shortcuts to the road you are traveling on. In this way, it must be taken into account that other cars can get onto the road and, therefore, users have to be very attentive to any car that tries to enter it.
The new signal from the DGT on shortcuts
The P-1e is one of the twenty signs that the DGT has presented, and without a doubt it is one of the most important. This sign not only warns that there are direct accesses a few meters away on the road, but also indicates to all drivers traveling on it that have priority on those who leave these routes, as the agency points out. In this way, it informs all road users that they have to take extreme precautions due to the possible incorporation of other cars.
As indicated by the DGT itself, this new signal is quite similar to others that have been present on Spanish roads for a long time, such as the P1-a, P1-b, P1-c and P1-d, which indicates that it is going to reach an intersection with priority over incorporations from the right or left. In short, this new beacon is one more of the branch that indicates the proximity of a crossing and that drivers have seen so many times.
Other new signals from the DGT
Among the two dozen new signs that the DGT will install on the road network, are some very new like the P-24-a, which indicates the passage of animals in freedom, the R-118, that prohibits the passage of Personal Mobility Vehicles (VMP) such as electric scooters wave S-105, which indicates the proximity of a service station where you can also recharge the batteries of your electric car. These are just some examples of all the beacons that the organization has presented.
