Ana Carrasco has just made history. The Murcian runner was proclaimed champion this Sunday at the Jerez-Ángel Nieto Circuit of Jerez of the first Women’s World Motorcycle Championship, after finishing third in the second race of the last qualifying event of the Superbike World Championship.
Carrasco has finished the World Cup competition with 244 points, after twelve races in which there has been great equality. All of this in a competition that ended up being decided in the last round.
In addition, the also Spanish María Herrera (Yamaha), who won race 1 on Saturday and This Sunday, she finished sixth.
The first test of the weekend was won by the Toledo woman, who left everything to decide in the second race. Despite this, Carrasco got a second place to get closer to the title and make it more difficult for his compatriot.
Race 2 of the weekend was won by Sara Sánchez from Barcelona and Second was Beatriz Neila.
This is the second World Cup for Ana Carrasco, who already won in mixed competition in 2018 on Supersport 300 World Championship.
