Bandido has released a statement confirming he suffered a concussion at ROH Final Battle.

The 29-year-old stated that he had suffered a blow to a “sensitive area” of his head, and was now waiting and hoping that he would not have to deal with brain swelling.

Translated from Spanish, he posted the following to Instagram:

What a weekend! All I can do is thank God for allowing me to wake up to another day after everything that happened. The hit was to a sensitive area of my head, and now all that’s left is to wait and hope there’s no brain swelling. Thanks to everyone who’s been messaging me, checking on how I’m doing! It’s been tough dealing with myself these past few days—so much frustration is clouding my mind. Now comes the toughest battle of my life: the one with myself! All I can tell you is that I’ll try to return to the ring a thousand times over if I have to—whether I succeed or fail trying.

He finished with a quotation from the 2006 film ‘Rocky Balboa’:

You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard you hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done.

The former ROH World Champion took part in a post-match angle at Final Battle, saving Matt Cardona from a beatdown by The Learning Tree.

On Sunday, The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer reported that the injury occurred when Bandido struck the back of his head after delivering a top-rope dropkick to Chris Jericho.
