Gang of four dine and dash women are hunted by police after scoffing £174 feast of wine, oysters and prawns before leaving without paying

  • This happened at Lookout on the Pier café in Scarborough, North Yorkshire
  • It has been reported the women were celebrating a birthday and were ‘drunk’

Police have appealed to the public to help identify four suspected bill dodgers who managed to rack up a £174 bill at a popular seafood restaurant.

Four women dined at Lookout on the Pier café in Scarborough, North Yorkshire. on the afternoon of Sunday, September 15, but allegedly left without coughing up the cash.

The gang, who had ‘clearly been drinking all day’, were allegedly out celebrating a birthday and staff even sang as they served them cake.

The criminals gorged themselves on crab, prawns, squid, oysters and three portions of chips, washing it all down with two bottles of wine and a beer.

One source told MailOnline that the girls likely ‘took a chance’ when they were asked to move table ahead of preparations for a live music event happening that night at the restaurant and ‘ran out the restaurant after seeing staff preoccupied’.

Everything the dine-and-dashers ordered

Two bottles of wine

One beer

Three oysters

Tapas Tiger Prawns

Tapas squid

Tapas crab

Two portions of chips

One portion of cheesy chips

A large chowder

A Thai sea bass

A Mediterranean prawn

A portion of rice

The source told MailOnline: ‘They were 20 minutes late to their booking and you could tell they had been drinking all day.

‘But they were lovely, it was one of their birthdays and were all having a good time. We even brought them out a cake and sang with them.

‘However, [on Sundays] we have a live music night so we had to ask them to move from their table to the breakfast bar, so we can set up for the evening.

‘They were happy to move but the breakfast bar is so close to the door that I think they will have just taken a chance and ran. They will have seen that all the staff were pre-occupied with set up and just taken the opportunity. It’s sad really.’
