Dog’s Face ‘Not Knowing What You Did Wrong’ After Ending Up in Shelter

A heartbreaking video has showcased the faces of two confused beagles that found themselves at a shelter in Norfolk, U.K., after their owner became too ill to care for them.

Beagles Mia, 3, and Fraser, 4, were taken in by the West Norfolk RSPCA shelter, where they are currently getting their heads around shelter life.

In a video on TikTok, the shelter shared footage of the two dogs in their kennel, with the caption: “POV: Your owner who adored you fell ill, and now you’re stuck in this noisy, scary kennel, not knowing what you did wrong.”

A spokesperson for the West Norfolk RSPCA told Newsweek the pair are “impeccably well-behaved, house-trained and so quiet for beagles.”

Now waiting to meet the right new owner, who will be able to keep them together, the rescue said the dogs aren’t used to life in a shelter, and one of them is particularly struggling with being there.

“Mia is really struggling with kennel life as she adores people and wants company for the majority of the day,” they said. “Fraser is a happy-go-lucky lad and will generally go to whoever has the most treats.”

The TikTok video featuring Mia and Fraser has gained plenty of attention from people online who were quick to wish the two dogs the best for the future.

Viewer Billie wrote: “Oh no poor baby. I hope the best for you sweet angel. So sad for the previous owner.”

While commenter Georgina said: “For this very reason, we adopted seniors and they were incredibly rewarding. Of course we didn’t have them for long, but our lives were enriched by them.”

“Oh my heart I pray they find a home soon,” Kel wrote.

Both dogs love their walks and would thrive in an active home with plenty of woodland or beach walks nearby—though, as typical for beagles, they could benefit from shedding a few pounds.

The shelter is determined to find Mia and Fraser a home where they can remain together, as their strong bond makes separating them unthinkable. “They absolutely adore each other, so splitting them up is something we really don’t want to happen,” the spokesperson said.
