This Sunday, December 15 in the morning, while a private radio journalist was near Dunkirk, in front of the house of one of the victims of the attack which left five people dead in gunfire on Saturday in the Northand whose main suspect went to the gendarmerie, she was attacked.

It was in the 9 a.m. newspaper that the journalist spoke live from Wormhout, near the house of one of the victims, a 29-year-old business manager shot dead with an automatic weapon, to discuss the shooting and the latest progress of the investigation. After about thirty seconds of live broadcast, we can hear behind the journalist’s voice, several male voices calling out ” cleared ” professionally, before the live broadcast was interrupted.

“We are interrupting the connection with her because she is obviously in trouble, we are keeping ourselves informed of the situation on site,” then reacts the presenter of the newspaper on set. An hour later, during the 10 a.m. edition of the newspaper RTL, the latter gave more information on what had happened: “Our journalist was attacked live while talking about this tragedy. I assure you, she is fine. The entire RTL editorial team joins me in condemning these actions.”

Five people shot, motives unclear

Saturday afternoon, five people were shot and killed in the Dunkirk region. Two security guards, two migrant men and a business manager were among the victims. The latter was killed in Wormhout. The other four victims were killed in Loon-Plage. In Loon-Plage, the events took place in two separate places, mayor Eric Rommel told AFP.

The alleged perpetrator finally went to the Ghyvelde gendarmerie at the end of the day, also in the Dunkirk area, where he was arrested. The man who is accused of the five murders is 22 years old and is not known to the police, the Dunkirk prosecutor said in a press release this Sunday.
