CINEMA – Ah the holidays Christmas…The perfect time to sit quietly in front of your screen with a hot drink while watching The Holiday ? Since 2006, the romantic comedy is still as much a part of our imagination around the holidays and many fans dream of a sequel. A wish that could well be granted because in a video published Thursday, November 12 on social networks by Nancy Meyers, Jude Law if he remains evasive, leaves the door open to a return of The Holiday.

Jude Law was honored with a star on the Walk of Fame on Thursday. The British actor was accompanied by his wife, Phillipa Coan, and his children. He then attended a lunch with the director of The Holiday. It was during this lunch that a video of Jude Law posted by Nancy Meyers on her Instagram account was filmed.

“Look who I’m having lunch with today, Jude Law. Congratulations on this star on the Walk of Fame that you so deserve. It’s so nice to see you, I don’t think I’ve seen you since we finished “The Holiday”.”exclaims the director. Before asking him this question: “I’ve seen your interviews a lot and they (journalists) keep asking you if there’s going to be a sequel to the film, what do you think? »

Enigmatic, the 51-year-old actor does not respond but instead replays a scene from the film in question, in which he puts a towel and glasses on his head, in order to invent a character that will make his two daughters laugh , Sophia and Olivia. The video stops, leaving room for suspense. Has Nancy Meyers changed her mind about a possible sequel?

Two years ago, the director confirmed on her Instagram account that she still did not want to follow up the film after persistent rumors, recalls the New York Post. Kate Winslet, who plays the role of Iris in the film, also put an end to the rumors.

Still, as we can see by reading the comments on social networks, fans continue to hope for a sequel. “Oh my God, I screamed!” Yes. The Second Holiday must take place »for example, commented a user on X. “It’s one of my favorite Christmas movies! »writes another. If the film does have a sequel, it seems that part of the public will be there.
