• The Kingston Interfaith Council will host a “Before our National Election” candlelight prayer vigil on Monday, Nov. 4, at 7 p.m. at the St. James United Methodist Church at 35 Pearl St. Kingston. The Interfaith Council said the event will be “for our community, houses of worship, nation and world.”

• A shoe drive fundraiser, supporting the Kingston High School class of 2027, is being held through Wednesday, Dec. 11. Collected shoes also will help support micro-enterprises in developing nations. Drop-off locations are Kingston High School, 403 Broadway, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 3, and Saturday, Dec. 7,  and Ulster Hose, 830 Ulster Ave., from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, and Saturday, Nov. 23.

• “Spring Awakening,” a musical about a 19th-century German schoolboy and his classmates as they navigate puberty, academic rigidity and the insensitive adults around them, opens Friday, Nov. 8, at The CENTER for Performing Arts, 661 state Route 308, Rhinebeck. • An exhibition titled “Farms, Feathers & Fields,” runs through Sunday, Nov. 10, at Tivoli Artists Gallery 60 Broadway, Tivoli. • A roast beef dinner will take placeTuesday, Nov. 5, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 72 Spring St., Kingston. The dinner will feature roast beef, mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls, coffee, tea, and dessert. The dinner is take-out only from 4 to 5 p.m. with reserved seating at 6 p.m. Dinners are $18 for adults and children over 12, $17 for seniors over 65, and $9 for children between the ages of 5 and 11.
