Senior groups list meeing schedules for Nov. 4-11

NEW PALTZ, N.Y. — The Retirees of the New Paltz Community invite retired men and women everywhere to their monthly breakfast meeting on Monday, Nov. 4, at 8 a.m. at the New Paltz Plaza Diner, 271 Main St.

Jack Parry, a retired health physicist and baseball enthusiast, will talk about his visits to 30 Major League Baseball parks.

WOODSTOCK, N.Y. — The Woodstock Senior Citizens Club will meet Wednesday, Nov. 6, at 12:30 p.m. at a location to be determined.

The speaker will be Matt Tallarico, the owner of the CBD Store in the town of Ulster.

TIVOLI, N.Y. — The Southern Tier Seniors will have their monthly meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 6, at the Masonic Hall, 7 North Road.

During the business meeting, there will be an election of officers for the vice president, treasurer and one trustee.

A penny social is planned. Members are asked to donate new or lightly used items for this fundraising event.
Coffee and tea with desserts will be served and will be provided by members whose last name begins from R through Z.

HURLEY, N.Y. — The Hurley Senior Citizens will have their monthly meeting on Thursday, Nov. 7, at 1:30 p.m. in Schadewald Hall at Hurley Reformed Church, 11 Main St.

The guest speaker will be Mari Ann Gibbon, director of the Children’s Home of Kingston. She will share the
work the home does for children needing their support and guidance.

There will be an opportunity to sign up for the upcoming Christmas luncheon at The Venue Uptown, 503 Washington Ave., Kingston. The cost is $30 per person. The meal choices are stuffed chicken breast, glazed salmon and pot roast. In addition, nominations for Senior of the Year will be accepted.

In addition, new, unwrapped toys for Toys for Tots can be brought to the meeting. A short business meeting will follow, with refreshments and fellowship to close the meeting. All seniors in the area are welcome.

TOWN OF KINGSTON, N.Y. — The Sawkill Seniors Citizens will have their monthly meeting on Monday, Nov 11, at 1 p.m. at the Kingston Town Hall, 906 Sawkill Road.

The speakers will be historians Taylor Bruck and Johnathan Palmer. They will speak on the beginnings of the Hudson Valley malls.

The formal meeting format will then take place, followed by a Thanksgiving lunch. There will also be raffles, socializing, and a Bingo or card game for those who wish to participate.

The group’s meetings usually take place the second Monday of the month.
