Julien Doré and Philippe Risoli singing the improbable “Cuitas les bananas” as a duet.
MUSIC – A duet that we all needed without even knowing it. On November 8, Julien Doré was going out IMPOSTOR, an album composed entirely of covers, ranging from the nursery rhyme Ah the crocodiles has La Kiffance from Naps, passing through THE Midnight Demons by Émile and Images. And after calling on the L5 for the clip of All the women in your lifethe singer this time offers himself the presence of… Philippe Risoli, and his cult title Cook the bananas.
It’s in a video posted on his social networks (see below) that the interpreter of We posted the improbable collaboration, in reaction to a comment asking for a duet with the former host of the famous TF1 show, THE Fair Price (1992-2001).
The duo is accompanied by an acoustic guitar tune, as Philippe Risoli himself recommended in an interview around ten years ago for 20 Minutes. Indeed, the much more melancholy aspect of the music fits the state of mind he was in when writing the lyrics.
“I wrote the lyrics and music for “Bananas” on the evening that “Millionaire” (TV show broadcast from 1991 to 2009, Editor’s note) stopped. (…) The “you have the balls, not the fries, you have the bees” is related to the little bout of blues that I had the evening of the end of this show for which I had a lot of affection”, he confided in the interview.
A musical and comic duo
The video published by Julien Doré follows two other sketches between the singer and the TV presenter. In the first, Julien Doré asked for his approval to release the single again, to which Philippe Risoli quickly responded in the negative.
In a second video, the host went to the studio to listen to the version of the song on the artist’s latest album. Unconvinced, he continued to criticize the way the title was recorded or sung.
Luckily for the fans, Cook the bananas is indeed one of the 17 titles ofIMPOSTORalongside covers of Woman Like U by K. Maro or by Die on stage by Dalida.
