The victory of Chapceoense against Tombense by 3-2, this Friday (21), buried the dreams of Náutico and Brusque, who still had hope of staying in the Brasileirão Serie B.
Later in the competition, the Pernambuco team dropped to the third division with 30 points. Brusque, penultimate in the championship, scored 33 points and will also be in Serie C in 2023.
The boards of the clubs regretted what happened and issued notes to the fans. Náutico was the first to publish it and in the text, Timbú made an assessment of recent years.
“Open Letter to the Red White Nation,
The end of the 2022 season was far from what we had hoped for at the beginning. Despite an achievement right at the opening of the year, the portrait of the season in football was marked by numerous mistakes and poor decisions made.
The moment requires reflection from everyone who makes Nautical. It’s time to think about what was done and what could have been done to prevent this promising season from ending with relegation to Serie C.
In recent years, we have been going through a period of restructuring not only financially, but also for Náutico as a whole. This decline in football, however painful and revolting it may be, will not serve as an impediment to the continuity of this restructuring of the club.
The scenario predicted for football in 2023 is far from being the same as in 2018. Furthermore, it is certain that only with a lot of planning, prioritizing the use of technology and data tools, and financial and legal responsibility will it be possible to tread a path which will take us back to having good results.
The sadness of relegation hurts and hurts, but it is no greater than the certainty that there is a way back for us.
To Náutico fans, our most sincere apology.”
Náutico cited the 2018 season, when the club performed well in Serie C and fell to Red Bull Bragantino in the quarterfinals. With the setback, Timbú became champion of the competition the following year and guaranteed its access.
Brusque also reported to the crowd
On the other hand, Brusque was more brief in his post and published a video on his Twitter. According to the quadricolor, the moment can strengthen the team in the coming years.
“Unfortunately, the moment we feared has happened. We respect the feeling of each fan, it remains for us to apologize, and that we can learn from our mistakes, but together, with your support, we will come back stronger ”, he posted.
