It will not have escaped you, the executive has been going through a hell of a crisis since the results of the 2022 legislative elections have fallen. Sunday, against a backdrop of very high abstention at 53.77%, it was a cold shower for Emmanuel Macron. The presidential coalition (Together!) gains a narrow relative majority with 245 seats in the National Assembly. The Nudes which had banked on the union of the various left-wing parties to obtain this much-desired majority did not succeed, with 142 seats. Big surprise for the national rally which is positioned as the real second political force with 89 seats. The Republicans and their allies are behind the far right with 64 seats.
Since June 19 and over the next few weeks, Emmanuel Macron has been trying to break the deadlock with an Assembly split into three or four very polarized blocks; marked by the relatively unexpected success of the extreme right. And so, you risk very well to collapse under the lexicon of a power under tension. But do not panic 20 minutes is there and we explain to you what an absolute – and relative – majority is, 49.3, that is to say article 49, paragraph 3 of the Constitution, the motion of censure, the dissolution of the Assembly or even governance by ordinance.
