The head of the Barakaldo court issued this Wednesday provisional detention for five of the seven detainees for his alleged involvement in the shootout between family clans last Sunday, which caused the death of a man and injuries to two other people. This was decided by the judge after taking statements from six of the seven arrested.
As reported by sources from the Department of Security and legal sources, the Investigative Court number 4 of Barakaldo, acting as guard, has agreed to enter provisional arrest, communicated and without bail of five detainees. Specifically, he accuses them of the alleged commission of acts that would constitute the crime of murder and two crimes of attempted murder.
It is about three men and two women allegedly involved in the shooting that occurred last Sunday afternoon in the Burtzeña neighborhood of Barakaldo. In addition, the court has agreed to provisional release without bail for the sixth detainee brought to justice with the obligation to appear before the court periodically and as many times as he is called.
The court has also imposed on the six precautionary measures prohibition of approach to less than 500 meters and communication with the two wounded by firearms. The investigation of this case will continue in the Investigative Court number 3 of Barakaldo.
In relation to these events, the Ertzaintza arrested a seventh person, who remains admitted to a hospital, as a detainee, and has not yet been brought to the court’s disposal.
The events occurred around 4:20 p.m. last Sunday when two families faced gunfire residents on the same street in Burtzeña (Barakaldo), who, according to several neighbors, had already had previous fights. The shots killed a man in his 50s and two other people were hit by the gunfire.
The Ertzaintza located various firearms on record carried out in the homes of the detainees (five shotguns, a pistol, a revolver and ammunition of different calibers), as well as knives, machetes and other manipulated knives.
