from Allianz to Siemens and Volkswagen

German companies are reinforcing their commitment to Spanish talent. Through the campaign “Inspiring talents, building futures”promoted by the German Chamber of Commerce for Spain, big names like Allianz, BASF, Siemens and Volkswagenamong other companies, seek to attract qualified and trained workers in Spain.

With a total workforce of 250,000 people, German companies represent an important employer in Spain, and are also the largest foreign group with nearly 2,100 companies operating in the country. In fact, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics (INE), they generate an annual turnover of about 86,000 million euros.

The barometers carried out by the German Chamber, which evaluate investment and workforce expectations among its associated companies, demonstrate the stability of German employment in Spain. Therefore, they want to maintain a firm commitment to creating jobs in the country.

“In the German Chamber we are aware that talent is conquered with value propositions, with a solid commitment and quality employment that offers talent perspectives in all their development phases,” highlights Osmar Polo, president of the German Chamber of Commerce for Spain and CEO of T-Systems,

One of the most representative cases is BASF Española, whose general director and vice president of the Chamber, Carles Navarro, highlights that investment in Spain has been possible thanks to the high availability of well-trained talent and at a competitive cost compared to other European countries. The company has expanded its workforce in Spain from three to 600 employees in five years through its Global Digital Transformation Center in Madrid.

In addition to BASF, other large German companies involved in the campaign include Allianz Seguros, Europcar Mobility Group, Merck, SIXT and Siemens, which have developed their own programs to attract and train the best talents. Through the platform TalentAHKinterested professionals can learn more about these companies and access their job opportunities.

Talent, training and employment are also the topics that will be addressed on October 24 at the VIII Spanish-German Business Meeting in Barcelona, and on October 23 at the 2024 Excellence Award Ceremony, also in Barcelona.
