A reserve where you can see more than 10,000 animals in the wild up close, including gazelles, giraffes, hyenas and cheetahs. The beach is also another perfect option to relax and practice water sports, among the most notable in the city are Kai Beach, Mirfa Beach and Al Batten Ladies Beach.

Culture is also present in the capital of the Arab Emirates. The museum is a good example of this. Louvre Abu Dhabiwhich opened its doors in 2017. While it is true that the first thing that comes to mind when visitors think of Abu Dhabi is modernity and large, endless skyscrapers, the city also has a historical past. On the Jebel Hafit mountain, an hour and a half from the capital, we can find the Jebel Hafit Tombsmore than 5,000 years old and whose remains show the importance of trade in the Bronze Age in that area. In 2011, UNESCO declared this place as Al Ain World Heritage Site. Another impressive monument open to tourists is the Great Mosquea colossal white marble temple, more than 100 meters high and Swarovski crystal lamps decorated with 24-karat gold.

Some useful recommendations for traveling to Abu Dhabi

The best time to visit Abu Dhabi is spring and autumn, warm seasons in which you can do outdoor activities without stress, since in summer the thermometers can reach up to 50 degrees.

It is advisable to take out health insurance, since in the event of an accident medical coverage is private and can involve a large cost.

Due to the high temperatures, it is advisable to wear clothing made of light materials such as cotton as well as sun protection. In the case of women, you should carry a scarf to cover your head when visiting some places such as mosques.

Abu Dhabi, and the United Arab Emirates in general, enjoy great security. However, when taking excursions in the desert it is recommended to be accompanied by an expert guide.

The currency of the United Arab Emirates is the Emirati dirham (AED). Currency exchange can be done at almost any currency exchange office and card payment is widely used.

During the month of Ramadan, Muslims fast from dawn to dusk and throughout this month eating, drinking, smoking and playing loud music in public places during daylight hours may be punishable by law, so it is recommended a prudent and respectful attitude.
