Sumar has registered a non-law proposal in Congress to create a single transport pass model usable throughout the Spanish territory, in addition to requesting that current aid for Renfe and bus tickets to be maintained.
The text of the initiative that the training has presented for debate in plenary details that it demands evaluating the advantages of a model that would improve “connectivity and efficiency” and would reduce “the bureaucracy of currently existing tariff differences.”
The group advocates a single card system with a flat rate and at an affordable pricewhich each citizen can request from their autonomous community but is valid for public transport throughout the territory and all means of transport. Even so, Sumar clarifies that it should be taken into account the powers of the different administrations in terms of transportation.
The training explains that there are single transport models “successfully implemented” in countries such as Germany or Austria, which combine a flat rate with an affordable price, the entire variety of public transportation options available to citizens.

“This measure would have a direct effect on citizens since it would not only lower the cost of their travel, but it will simplify the bureaucracy and procedures that their mobility requires,” the group adds in the statement of reasons for the proposal.
