Conor McGregor Takes Aim at Terence Crawford as Nate Diaz Calls Out Irishman

Amid speculation of a possible return to the ring, McGregor has set his crosshairs on Terence Crawford with a jaw-dropping $200 million offer for a two-fight deal. This proposition would include both a boxing match and an MMA face-off, merging the two sports into an event likely to captivate an extensive audience.

“Big respect to @tbudcrawford! $100 million a fight, 1 MMA, 1 boxing. $200 million,” he posted via Instagram.

Adding fuel to an already fiery scenario is Nate Diaz, a fighter notorious for his competitive history with McGregor. Emerging from a recent victory over Jorge Masvidal in a boxing bout, Diaz has sent a challenge to the Irishman.

Taking to social media (below), Diaz set out the challenge: “I box Crawford and fight Conor next 168 Ifg.”

Diaz has had a previous matchup with McGregor, where each fighter claimed a victory, resulting in a 1-1 standing between the two. Fans now eagerly anticipate a possible trilogy fight, which could decisively settle this score. Meanwhile, Crawford’s initial dismissal of McGregor’s offer appears to be wavering. Although he initially rejected the idea, Crawford’s later comments indicate he might be “tempted” to reconsider, teasing the possibility of a fight.

Previously, Diaz extended callouts to illustrious fighters like Floyd Mayweather and Canelo Alvarez. Yet, not every challenge finds its mark; Canelo Alvarez coolly repsonded:

“I never say ‘no’ to a fight, but it did not make sense for me at that time.”

McGregor hasn’t seen any combat since he started a hiatus in 2021. With multiple injuries, filming in Hollywood, and failed attempts at a comeback, this could be the kick he needs to return fully.

Should terms be agreed upon and the fighters step into their respective rings, the impact on the sport could be immense.

Terence Crawford, the 37-year-old boxer from Omaha, Nebraska, boasts an impressive record of 41 wins and 0 losses, with 31 of those victories coming by knockout. He is recognized as one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in boxing history. Crawford made history by becoming the first male boxer to unify all four major world titles in two weight classes: at junior welterweight (140 lbs) and welterweight (147 lbs). His greatest victories include defeating champions like Ricky Burns, Jeff Horn, and Errol Spence Jr., solidifying his status as an elite fighter in the sport.

In a potential match against Crawford, McGregor would face a formidable opponent. Crawford’s southpaw stance and ability to switch styles could present challenges for the Irishman, who is primarily an MMA fighter. Conversely, should they meet in an MMA bout, McGregor’s grappling skills could give him an edge, making this a fascinating clash of styles.
